What is the Preliminary Environmental Report (RAP)?

The RAP is intended to evaluate the environmental viability of an activity, potential business or any activity that really causes any environmental impacts.

Includes qualitative analysis of the physical, biotic and socioeconomic means and evaluates the impacts caused by the business, with the proposed mitigation measures and environmental control plan.

Who needs a RAP?

The RAP must be presented the preliminary license stage for activities or business potentially polluter or that causes any form of environmental degradation, and it’s the basic document for requirement of an EIA (Environmental Impact Study). Other studies may also be required by the environmental agency in later stages.

What is the content of a RAP?

A RAP must include the following information:

  1. Background of the enterprise;
  2. Study of alternative urbanistic projects;
  3. Characterization of the enterprise;
  4. Assessment of environmental impacts;
  5. Mitigating measures and environmental control.
